President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya has announced that a siege of Nairobi's Westgate shopping mall was over."We have ashamed and defeated our attackers, that part of our task is completed," President Uhuru Kenyatta said in a televised address to the nation: "Our losses are immense," he added.
He said that 61 civilians and 6 members of the security forces died during the operation, of the injured civilians, 62 were operated on and are still receiving treatments in various hospitali.He said that 5 terrorist have been killed and 11 gunmen are in custody.
He called three days of national mourning starting tomorrow. President Kenyatta said they can not confirm at the moment the reports that American and British nationals are among the attackers, noting that forensics experts are working to establish their nationalities."These cowards will meet justice," Kenyatta avowed.
